General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Risk
Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N252494000.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles. The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk
Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
The Electronic Brake Control Module (eBCM) software will be updated through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N242447990.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk
DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. My 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 equipped with the 6.2L L87 V8 has exhibited abnormal engine behavior since shortly after purchase, well before GM announced the engine recall. Symptoms include extremely loud intermittent metallic lifter/valvetrain noise during cold starts, persistent rough idle, and noticeable engine vibration that causes the truck to rock back and forth after warming up. Paradise Chevrolet and Bunnin Chevrolet subsequently performed GM's prescribed PicoScope inspections, and both reported passing results. The oil-viscosity recall remedy was also completed, but the symptoms remain unresolved at 47,133 miles. I am concerned about potential internal engine damage and the possibility of sudden engine failure or loss of propulsion. Given NHTSA's investigation into L87 engine failures following recall repairs, I am requesting further investigation into the adequacy of GM's recall remedy.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to decelerate properly while the brake pedal was depressed. The brake pedal was firm. The ABS, Emergency Brakes, and Brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and confirmed to have a transmission failure. The vehicle was repaired under warranty; however, while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle was shuddering, and while the transmission was shifting into a lower gear, the vehicle jolted. The same local dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 58,800.

I have received a voluntary recall notice on my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. The recall states that the vehicle may have a condition which can cause the Fuel Pump power control module to fail. If this happens fuel flow to the engine could be interrupted causing the motor to shut off. Would this be considered a safety concern if the engine shuts down on th highway?

I drive a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3.0L Diesel with the 10-speed transmission. The transmission control software failed to monitor/detect valve body wear or trigger a 5th-gear 'limp mode' safety net, resulting in three separate instances of sudden rear-wheel lockup at speed. The dealer was unable to replicate the issue during a service visit from 6/10 - XXX. The issue was raised as the transmission was shifting increasingly badly leading up to this service visit. The first full lockup occurred a few days after receipt of the vehicle on XXX driving eastbound on [XXX]. Off the gas, coasting downhill. Once everybody started speeding up, I increased the throttle gently and the truck shook violently. I initially thought I had been hit by another vehicle but realized it was the transmission. Speed was noted 24 mph. The second incident occurred XXX while traveling to [XXX]. Driving southbound between [XXX] and [XXX] at approximately 50 MPH in a coasting condition. Went to pass a slow vehicle and the vehicle jerked violently an locked the rear wheels. Initial assumption was that I had been hit. Was able to regain control and continue. The third incident occurredXXX while traveling from [XXX] to [XXX]. Driving eastbound on [XXX] at approximately 35 mph, when moving from a coast to acceleration posture, the vehicle again locked the rear wheels and jerked violently. Finally, onXXX when traveling southbound from [XXX] to [XXX], I stopped for fuel. When attempting to accelerate onto the freeway, the vehicle failed to engage 6 gear, stumbled, and then went into limp mode with a check engine light. On XXX a [XXX] dealer found code P0747 and addressed the issue with [XXX]. I was forced to rent a car to continue my journey to [XXX]. GM ultimately shipped my truck back to me one week later. The software 'fix' clearly did not work as intended and remains a serious safety hazard. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Evaporative emissions purge pump failed at 18,473 miles. As the bumper-to-bumper warranty has expired GM refused to cover this repair. As this is a known problem with certain GM vehicles, the repair is covered for older model year out-of-warranty cars and for residents of other states (California, for example). This repair is covered by the emissions warranty in some states (California), but not Michigan.

The contact's daughter owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the contact's daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed evaporative emission purge pump. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed. The contact was informed that the repair was covered under an unknown recall. The contact was later informed that the repair was not covered under the unknown recall. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,010.

While driving at Interstate speeds, the engine abruptly stalled, causing an immediate loss of motive power. I was able to coast off the Interstate to a surface street then into a gas station parking lot. Once stopped, the engine would not start again. It would crank repeatedly but never fire, like it was out of gas, but I had nearly 1/2 tank still. This is a safety concern having a 3yr old truck just die on you at highway speeds. This vehicle matches the exact year, make, and model of the expanded GM Emission Recall Campaign N262558690-01 (NHTSA ID 11037321) for Fuel Pump Power Control Module failures, but the VIN is currently excluded."

This truck and hundreds, if not thousands of others has many issues with the electronic shifter. Not only do they frequently fail, but Chevrolet does not have any parts available to the dealerships for weeks. These Duramax 3.0 diesel engines are also a huge problem with the emission system and DEF. They constantly fail and we are spending thousands to repair. My truck is stuck at a dealership in [XXX]. I had to rent a vehicle to drive back home to [XXX]. The dealer has no idea how long it will take to get a shifter from Chevy. Is there any help available. I was driving my 2023 silverado 1500 down the highway when my engine started loosing power and then shut completely down at 65 mph. My safety and others were at risk due to speed and loss of power. I was lucky enough to not be on an interstate or in a metropolitan area. This happened due to a recall on this particular motor from General Motors (6.2 Liter). My vehicle was taken to a local General Motors dealership and the engine replaced. There were no warnings or abnormal behaviors of the vehicle prior to and the vehicle was taken in for the recall prior to the incident. The motor oil was changed to the recommended 0-W40 by the dealership.

I have noticed a ticking noise that is coming from the engine, driver side, the tick after the recall was preformed, 5-23-2025. The tick has grown in loudness from that date. Took the truck to the dealership and they did a check but was unable to locate anything, no parts were removed and no witness marks on any of the engine areas Example oil pan and so on. I was told that they would charge me if the truck was brought back for the same issue per GM not the dealership. They have been doing my oil changes at a 3,000 mile interval. The tick has gotten progressively louder, and I am nervous about driving my truck but I can't not work.

On our way to [XXX], we heard a clacking noise coming from our engine. Pulled off the highway and had it towed to Reeder Chevrolet. It was Sunday XXX. On XXX we went to the dealer and they said we spun a connecting rod bearing and needed a new engine. Truck is a 2023 Slverado, 5,3 engine, with about 65000 miles on it. 5000 miles out of warranty. It took 18 days, and cost 12,214.37 to replace. Dealer stated that if I wanted to pursue a warranty claim, we would have tpo pay for them to disassemble the engine, diagnose the problem, then reassemble the engine, and they would send it to GM. GM would decide if it would be covered under warranty. If not, we would be out the cost of the diagnosis. I have always used 0W-20 full synthetic oil when an oil change was required. After searching this problem online, I found a tech service bulletin changing the requirement to 0W-40. We were never notified of the change, and the 2026 owners still say to use 0W-20. The engine in my 2023 Silverado ZR2 (6.2L L87 V8) failed. It is available for inspection at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet ([XXX]). On XXX at about 67,000 miles, and the days leading up to it, the truck repeatedly struggled to start due to metal on metal contact, almost leaving me and my family stranded multiple times. Driving the vehicle produced a loud rattling noise at 2200 to 2700 rpm, and felt unsafe to drive. Especially with my family. The problem was reproduced and confirmed to be an engine failure by the Rick Hendrick Chevy dealership a week after being dropped off with an appointment. I have been told the engine needs to be replaced under the special coverage program (N252494003). The L87 recall inspection and oil change was completed on XXX also by Rick Hendrick Chevy. There were not warning lights or other symptoms leading up to this engine failure. The symptoms of struggling to start and the ticking noise as 2200 to 2700 RPM started that weekend before I brought to dealership. They got progressively worse. Dealership has said I will receive a new engine under warranty but no timeline for completion. Additionally I have not been furnished with a service loaner or option for one. Engine failed and was replaced at 38k. Transmission shudders, have been back to dealership multiple times for transmission shudder, have been told it was tires, torque converter, and valve body. When those items didn’t fix the issue, I was told it was the engine dfm and that it was normal and not a problem, AFTER they had already acknowledged the transmission issue by trying to fix it with a torque converter and valve body. Engine failed again at 54,604 miles while at high way speeds in rush hour like traffic in between [XXX] and [XXX], while pulling a camper. Truck oiled down the interstate and produced a blueish/milky looking cloud that caused drivers behind me to lock up their brakes because of bad vision, creating a hazard. I was told by gm that they wouldn’t tow the camper that I had to take care of that but they wouldn’t tow send a truck for my truck. Tow truck gets there and says my truck is too big and leaves. I called my own rollback to get my truck 3 1/2 hours later and they came and got it. Was stranded on the side of the interstate for 4 1/2 hours in 90 degree weather, to my knowledge the 2nd truck gm was supposed to send never showed up. Catastrophic Engine failure - Chevy, Silverado 1500, Yr: 2023; Odometer: 33,183: On 8/16/2026 we were traveling down a busy highway towing our camper and the engine completely stopped, no propulsion, no warning lights, no check engine lights; complete failure; we had to coast to side of road. The only thing that indicated a problem is that we started hearing what sounded like marbles rattling, it wasn't loud but noticeable. We pulled over at gas station to check oil, even though we just had the oil changed for maintenance on 7/17/2026 (Odometer: 32,587). Everything checked out ok; however, the marble sound became louder; then within 5 minutes of leaving the gas station, we lost all engine propulsion; the engine completely shut down. Our safety was put at risk as we had no truck engine and were towing a camper on a busy highway; and had to try and coast to a safe location on side of road; miles away from home. We had to call a tow truck to come get us and unfortunately, they could not help us with our camper so then had to call our son to come with his truck to get our camper and us home safely. The tow company also had a difficult time getting the truck into neutral to tow. The truck was towed to our hometown Chevy Dealer. The dealer said that they were not going to diagnose the problem and instead are ordering a new 6.2 engine; same as the 6.2 that failed. We asked if this would fix the problem and they said there were no guarantees as it is the same engine with the same problem. Prior to this event, we received a recall in Sep 2025 and an engine inspection and oil change was performed on 9/12/2025 (Odometer: 25,751); we were told that our engine was ok. As of 9/3/2026; we have been without our vehicle for 17 days.

Description of the Problem: My 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has a recurring transmission issue involving hard shifting and shuddering during normal driving. The transmission frequently hesitates, clunks, or jolts when changing gears, especially at low to moderate speeds. These symptoms occur consistently and have worsened over time. Safety Concerns: The harsh gear engagement and shuddering make the vehicle difficult to control smoothly. It feels like something will break while I'm driving. The unpredictable shifting behavior feels unsafe in traffic, during merging, and when accelerating from a stop, or driving on the freeway. I am concerned this may be related to widespread transmission complaints reported by other 2023 Silverado owners, including valve body and TCM failures. Service History: I have not contacted my dealership regarding the issue. Why I’m Reporting: I believe this transmission behavior presents a potential safety defect. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA can review it as part of ongoing monitoring of similar issues reported for this model year.

On [XXX], my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 (VIN: [XXX]) underwent GM's safety recall service for the 6.2L L87 V8 engine (Recall N252494000 / Special Coverage N252494003). The vehicle passed dealer inspection and received the prescribed higher-viscosity oil and calibration remedy. On [XXX], at 25,287 miles—less than five months and a few thousand miles after the recall was performed—the engine suffered a catastrophic internal mechanical failure, resulting in a sudden and complete loss of propulsion while I was getting off of the freeway. I had to coast to a stop on the side of the road. I had it towed to Murcock Chevrolet. The vehicle was serviced at Murdock Chevrolet (Woods Cross, UT), where technicians confirmed the internal failure and completed a full engine long-block replacement under GM Special Coverage warranty (Invoice total: $10,852.26). GM's initial recall remedy failed to prevent catastrophic failure, posing a serious safety hazard due to unexpected propulsion loss while operating the vehicle. I needed a replacement driver-side windshield wiper arm for my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with factory rain-sensing wipers. GM's electronic parts catalog directed the Chevrolet dealer to part #23387855. The dealer physically compared the part to my original arm and confirmed it was the wrong shape and would not fit. The dealer opened a formal Catalog Omission/Error (COE) ticket with GM. I was then informed that GM redesigned the wiper arm on my truck. The correct redesigned arm has been ordered, but I was told there is no estimated availability date and that it is not currently available through GM dealerships or GM's parts distribution/warehouse system in North America. This is a safety concern because a damaged or failed wiper arm could leave an owner without proper windshield visibility during rain or severe weather. I am also concerned that the passenger-side arm may have the same catalog and availability problem, although this has not yet been confirmed. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this issue affects both wiper arms and other 2023 and newer Silverado 1500 trucks with this wiper configuration nationwide.

Multiple times the truck has stopped running while driving. Once one the highway, once in an intersection, another time in a parking lot. It has not started when I have tried to turn it on. All the times I have called AAA. They have checked the battery and there is no battery issue. Twice AAA has come out, once the police have come and sat behind the truck to keep me safe. After about 10 minutes of the sitting with the truck off I can restart it and drive. Upon research, other Chevy trucks of similar age have a recall for a failed fuel pump module. This is the issue. If it is a known issue, and causing a dangerous situation it should be recalled on all trims of Chevy trucks. I will be getting this fixed, but don’t feel I should incur the $1,000 expense for a known defect.

SteeringFiled Jul 29, 2026
When driving normally OR pulling a camper (same day), power steering seems to "stick" as I exit either a moderate RH or LH corner. I must apply extra effort to the steering wheel to straighten out, and that invariably leads to an over-correction and departure into either the shoulder or the opposite lane. Problem is not sensitive to speed or weather conditions. The symptoms are not necessarily worse when pulling a camper, but the consequences are much more drastic and losing control of the vehicle feels much more imminent than when driving just the truck. Because the problem comes and goes so quickly, I can be applying force to straighten the wheel when suddenly, no force is required and the truck veers either left or right. I see no warning lights, nor do I see any messages displayed. I have not yet had the opportunity to get the truck to a mechanic. I'm not confident that I can safely drive to a repair facility, as the steering is so unpredictable.

The left front turn signal becomes inoperable at times. The foreword collision indicator warning will come on unprovoked at times. Both conditions correct when you cycle the ignition switch. I consider the turn signal problem a safety issue because it happens with no warning and oncoming traffic may not know I am turning left or changing lanes. When the foreword indicator appears, I doubt the system is operable.

On June 27th 2026 at approximately 3am, I was driving my Chevy Silverado Trail Boss with 6.2 engine, it suffered a sudden catastrophic failure and it completely seized while in motion. There were no warning or signs given while vehicle was in motion. This resulted in an immediate highly dangerous loss of propulsion on a dark 2 lane road. The vehicle would not crank and had to be towed to Estero Bay Chevrolet.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the 6.2L V8 (L87) engine in my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 seized and locked up completely, resulting in total loss of propulsion. I was driving at 65 MPH when it felt like the transmission was slipping and I lost power and coasted the truck to the side of the road. COMPONENT: Engine (6.2L V8, RPO L87) — connecting rod/crankshaft failure consistent with Safety Recall N252494001 (NHTSA Recall 25V-274). The vehicle is available for inspection. It is currently at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet, where it was towed on July 13, 2026, and remains inoperable. SAFETY RISK: The engine seized during operation, causing sudden and complete loss of propulsion in traffic. This is the exact failure mode identified in Recall 25V-274 as increasing the risk of a crash. CRITICAL DETAIL: This vehicle previously underwent inspection under Safety Recall N252494001 and PASSED on Feb 3rd 2026 at VAN Chevrolet in Kansas City. GM deemed the engine non-defective and issued extended warranty coverage of 10 years/150,000 miles under the associated special coverage program. Despite passing GM's recall inspection, the engine suffered catastrophic failure. This appears directly relevant to NHTSA's open recall query regarding the effectiveness of GM's recall remedy. DEALER CONFIRMATION: A technician at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet has verbally confirmed the engine is locked up/seized. Formal diagnosis is pending master technician sign-off and submission to GM, expected the week of July 20, 2026. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. WARNING SIGNS: No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the failure. The engine failed without warning

I am filing a formal complaint regarding General Motors' handling of a critical vehicle component that has left my vehicle and many others in an unsafe condition. For more than over a one month, I have been waiting for a replacement gear shift module that is currently on backorder. During this time, I have learned that numerous General Motors customers are experiencing the same issue and are also waiting for this part to become available. My primary concern is that this appears to be more than an isolated parts shortage. If so many vehicles require replacement of the same safety-related component, General Motors should be evaluating whether this issue warrants a safety recall or, at a minimum, notifying affected customers of the potential risks. The gear shift module is a critical component that affects the safe operation of a vehicle. Allowing customers to continue driving vehicles that may have a defective gear shift module without providing a safety notification or timely repair raises serious concerns regarding public safety. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter and encourage General Motors to: Explain the reason for the extended backorder of this critical component. Provide customers with a reasonable timeline for obtaining replacement parts. Determine whether this issue should be addressed through a formal safety recall or customer safety notification. Offer appropriate assistance to customers whose vehicles have been affected by this prolonged delay. Customers should not be expected to operate vehicles that may present a potential safety risk while waiting indefinitely for a critical replacement part.

Engine stopped while driving. Truck made dinging noise. Dash had no warning lights. Dash said need to press start button to turn on. Truck went into neutral by itself. Was able to pull over and put it in park. Tried to push the start button and nothing. Dealership said it needs a new motor. The truck has less than 10k miles. The motor has already been replaced once before at 4070 miles.

Upon purchasing a used 2023 Silverado, on the first night of ownership, I found the headlight on the passenger side to be defective. The high beams activated approximately a full second slower than the driver's side. It took me a few days to confirm what I was seeing, where I immediately reached out to help from the Chevy dealership it was purchased from. After back and forth, the dealership refused to fix this saftey item as it was "still operational just not 100%" or something to that affect (not a direct quote). The extended warranty company doesn't typically cover headlight housing. The dealership locally says both headlights need replacement. Chevy Corp is involved, under claim 104164057. I've brought to their attention that I have found several reports of this defect online for similar vehicles and model year. My contention is that, particularly due to being the passenger side, this malfunction could lead to accidents and collisions due to distraction of troubleshooting, and the delay of lighting on the side where animals and night hazards typically come from. I've read online reports of these headlights may take up to 3 seconds between sides to both activate, with one side running slower than the other, and eventual failure where the switching mechanism will get stuck. A Chevy dealer confirmed the defect and recommended replacement of both headlights, at my cost, for approximately $4000. Chevy is still investigating and trying to find a conclusion with the dealership, but I contest that I have malfunctioning saftey equipment that could lead to harm or injury, and at the moment, both dealer and manufacturer have been unwilling to resolve the issue. The failure occurs both in auto-headlight and manual modes.

While shifting my vehicle from Park, a "Service Transmission" warning message appeared on the dashboard. The warning would illuminate and then disappear, but the vehicle continued to shift into the other gears. At the time the issue occurred, my truck had only 47,000 miles. I brought it to Blasius Chevrolet in [XXX] on XXX, for diagnosis. The dealership determined that the Transmission Control Assembly (Part # XXX) had failed and needed to be replaced. I was informed that this repair was not covered under the powertrain warranty because Chevrolet considers the Transmission Control Assembly to be excluded from powertrain coverage, and my basic warranty had already expired. I was quoted more than $900 for parts and labor. Initially, I was told the replacement part would arrive within a few days. Later, the technician stated that other Chevrolet dealerships had the part in stock. However, after contacting those dealerships, he was told they would not release their inventory. Chevrolet then advised that the part was on national backorder, with the earliest estimated availability of XXX. As a result, I have been without my truck for approximately one month, creating a significant hardship. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other Chevrolet owners experiencing the same failure involving the Transmission Control Assembly. The apparent frequency of these failures, combined with the nationwide backorder of the part, suggests this may be a widespread defect rather than normal wear and tear. I believe Chevrolet should either: Cover this repair under the powertrain warranty, as it directly affects the operation of the transmission, or Issue a recall or warranty extension if this is determined to be a common defect affecting vehicle safety and reliability. I am submitting this complaint because I am concerned that a failure of the Transmission Control Assembly could impact the safe operation of the vehicle. A valve on the 3.0L Duramax is allegedly sticking, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode or be inoperable. This is a known issue for GM and they have issued a service bulletin on it. Unfortunately, no dealers want to address the issue and now we are left with a vehicle that if we do not pay to repair, after it being ours for only 5 days, the vehicle will be unusable. This vehicle is under warranty still and this part is needed for operation. I believe this avoidance of a recall is harming customers and creating pay to drive schemes. This needs to be addressed before thousands of customers begin paying for a repair that GM knows is their fault.

I have a complaint about GM and my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ regarding the radio / infotainment system failure after attempting a recommended software update, and the resulting degradation of installed safety features. On 08 MAY 2026, my infotainment system indicated a software update was necessary, so I followed the directions to complete the update. When the update was complete, my infotainment screen said there was a failure and to take it to the dealership for repair. The entire infotainement system is inoperative. The soonest appointment I could make was for 18 MAY 2026. On 18 MAY 2026, I took my Silverado into the dealership where I have it serviced to address the failure of my infotainment system. My service advisor informed me that I would need a new radio and that these radios are on a national backorder list. My advisor informed me that they have other customers who are experiencing the same issue and have been waiting for the replacement radio since January 2026. My advisor informs me that there is no estimated time of resolution. This defect inhibits safety features such as; use of OnStar, Google and Apple Maps that provide travel advisory hazards, parking camera views, vehicle systems status. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH with his wife and grandchildren inside the vehicle, the check engine warning light, collision warning light, and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the message "Braking System Failure - Do not exceed 62 MPH" and the trailer brake message was displayed. The contact continued to drive the vehicle; however, whenever the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to slow as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that a software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.

My truck has the L87 motor on recall. i purchased it brand new and paid top dollar for it. I've had issues since I've bought it. All of my maintenance has always been done at the dealership from regular maintenance to purchasing brand new tires. I am very disappointed to have a truck that concerns to drive, i do not take my family out in my truck because i am not confident in its reliability and safety. multiple times i've taken my truck in for service and let them know to complete an oil change, tire rotation and to check an issue with a "tick, clunk and knock" just to be told it was "normal for the 6.2". my normal dealership has blocked off appointments online and you'd have to call to try to set one up. I demanded a diagnostic one time when the truck was acting weird and the tech stated "stop by, i'll squeeze you in" in which i did. however, i wasn't given any documentation since "i didn't have an appointment". After reviewing all of my service records, i come to notice not once time did they mention they did a diagnostic check. Only the recall test shows on one of the service records. I've had 3 different viscosity oils in my motor from the dealer stating GM recommended it. I had to night drop my truck on June 14 as it was making a weird noise from the engine and it felt like it had less power. I waited 2 days and the dealer did not contact to even state they have my truck in service. when i called to ask the status i had to agree to text message communication in which they replied, "at best it will take 2 weeks just to look at it". I asked for a loaner since i need a truck for work and transportation, they replied they do not have any and I will be placed on a list. My truck is still under original powertrain warranty and they cannot even provide a loaner. i feel that they are brushing me off to buy time and here i am making hefty car and insurance payments for a truck i do not have nor a truck that I NEED to provide for my family. GM does not care!
