FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Vehicle has roughly 64,000 miles on it. As we were actively driving, vehicle suddenly lost power and completely shut off. This was a sudden stall. Vehicle would not crank back up but starter would engage. Upon scanning the trouble codes, multiple codes came up in regard to the fuel pump issue that is currently under investigation. (P008A, P00C6, P0304) This issue poses a serious risk as while actively driving, could cause an accident and should be an active recall for this year make and model.

STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS

1. There was front suspension failure where the lower ball joint has separated, causing the steering knuckle and wheel assembly to detach and collapse while driving- yes it is available to inspect if done tomorrow 2. Driver could not control car, passengers and other cars on road in immediate danger. Car was swerving with loss of control 3 Independent service center looked-this should have not have happened. 4 No happened yesterday was going to bring to dealer after Ind looked at it 5. No warning

VISIBILITY/WIPER

I am reporting a potential safety defect involving the HVAC air vent assemblies in my 2022 Ford Expedition. I have now had TWO separate vent directional-control/deflector handles break during normal use. The plastic attachment points are extremely thin and fragile and appear inadequate for a component specifically designed to be routinely adjusted. This does not appear to be an isolated incident. Broken HVAC vent controls/deflectors have been reported MULTIPLE times by Ford owners across various online Ford forums and owner discussions. The number of similar consumer reports raises concern that this may be a recurring design or material defect rather than normal wear or accidental damage. When the control breaks, the vent can no longer be properly aimed. This creates a potential visibility issue because HVAC airflow is necessary to clear condensation and fog from the windshield and front side windows. In hot humid climate, windows can fog rapidly. Losing the ability to properly direct airflow can delay clearing the glass and reduce driver visibility. The defect also prevents proper A/C airflow from being directed toward the driver. Florida vehicles can reach extremely high interior temperatures when parked. Reduced ability to direct cold air toward the driver can contribute to excessive heat exposure, discomfort, fatigue, dehydration, and potentially heat-related illness, which may impair safe vehicle operation. Having two separate vent controls fail under normal use, combined with numerous similar reports from other Ford owners, suggests a possible systemic durability defect. I am requesting that NHTSA review complaints involving 2022 Ford Expeditions and other Ford vehicles using the same vent assemblies to determine whether an investigation or corrective action is warranted.

POWER TRAIN

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, the transmission was sticking. The failure was a recurring failure. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle received a software update; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

The ipma module which controls the lane keep assist has stopped working permanently. The dealership has quoted the cost to replace the ipma at over $1,000. The warning light stating that the front camera module and lane keep assist are unavailable appears each time the vehicle is started up.

Summary of Safety Issues with Chicco Car Seat 1.) Magnetic Chest Clip Disassembly (October 2023) • At [XXX] old, my daughter disassembled the magnetic chest clip while seated in the car. • She placed a small part in her mouth, creating a choking hazard. • I was stranded until a replacement car seat could be brought. • I replaced the clip with a plastic version Chicco provided, but the original design posed a serious and unacceptable safety risk. 2.Child Unlocking Base Mechanism (April 2025) • My daughter is able to unlatch the seat from its base while rear-facing. • She does this repeatedly, even after being re-secured. • Chicco only sent a “lever lock” cover despite my request for a full replacement, which was ignored. • This flaw allows a toddler to disengage the seat mid-drive, rendering the product unsafe and unusable. 3.) Cup Holder Suffocation Hazard (June 2025) • My daughter easily removes the silicone cup holders. • On one occasion, she placed one over her mouth and nose, creating suction and restricting her breathing. • I have since removed the cup holders entirely, though this alters the seat’s intended use. • This presents a clear suffocation hazard. 4.) Excessive Rattling When Not in Use (Ongoing) • When installed rear-facing and unoccupied, the seat rattles loudly during travel. • The noise is so disruptive I have rotated the seat forward-facing at times to reduce it. • While less severe than the other hazards, this reflects poor product integrity and contributes to ongoing safety concerns.
