Incorrect instrument panel control module software can cause the instrument panel to not display critical information, such as engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle. Additionally, it can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

The mounting holes for the clip that secures the right center pillar trim panel may be larger than intended. In the event of a crash necessitating right side curtain air bag deployment, the clip may not hold the center pillar trim panel in position and it may potentially interfere with the curtain air bag deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214, "Side Impact Protection," and 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

I have issues with my 2019 honda pilot front windshield camera. when the front-facing camera malfunctions, it simultaneously shuts down multiple Honda Sensing driver-assistance systems. The front sensor camera mounted behind the windshield fails or glitches, causing simultaneous failures in adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane-keeping assist. The failure triggers a cascade of multiple warning messages (such as "adaptive cruise control problem" or "road departure mitigation system problem") i want Honda to repair it under recall.

Rearview camera is showing up as green and purple on the screen. It makes seeing what is behind the car hard when in reverse. Dealer does not know what caused it but it started as intermittent but now is constant

This vehicle is equipped with Honda's Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system, which shuts the engine off automatically when the vehicle comes to a stop and is designed to restart it when the brake pedal is released. On XXX, while stopped at a light at approximatly [XXX], the engine shut off as normal, but failed to restart when I released the brake. The vehicle was inoperable for approximately one to two minutes while stopped in a busy traffic muilti-lane road at a light over an expressway, creating a serious risk of being struck from behind by other traffic. This is not an isolated occurrence, I experience this AIS no-restart failure on a regular/recurring basis, not just this one time. I am aware that Honda has issued service bulletins related to this issue (TSB 23-008, TSB 23-009) and that this defect is the subject of a certified class action settlement (In re Honda Idle Stop Litigation, No XXX). I believe this represents an ongoing safety defect that creates a real risk of a collision, particularly in higher-speed or higher-traffic conditions where a temporarily immobile vehicle is a hazard to itself and surrounding traffic. This vehicle has a rebuilt/salvage title (repaired and retitled prior to my purchase; it passed state inspection and is legally registered and roadworthy). When I contacted Honda about repair under the applicable service bulletins (TSB 23-008 / TSB 23-009) for this defect, I was told the rebuilt title status disqualifies this vehicle from that repair coverage. I am not seeking a warranty or cost remedy through this complaint, I am reporting this because it means an unknown number of vehicles with this safety defect are currently excluded from any manufacturer-provided fix, leaving the underlying no-restart hazard unaddressed on the road. ENGINE

The car stalled in an intersection. The auto idle function had engaged when the car came to a full stop, but when i took my foot off the break it did not restart. It took a couple of tries to get it to restart, leaving my car in the intersection. This problem has been happening on and off since I bought it used in 2022. In May 2025, a Honda dealership near me made a valve adjustment and replaced the starter, which was supposed to have fixed the issue. However, it recently started occurring again.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My 2019 Honda Pilot EX AWD (VIN [XXX]) with approximately 80,000 miles developed a check engine light along with dashboard messages indicating an Emissions System Problem and AWD System Problem. The vehicle continued to drive normally, but the warnings repeatedly returned. Diagnostic code P0172 (System Too Rich, Bank 1) was present. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer on XXX which diagnosed failed fuel injectors and recommended replacement of the injector assembly at a cost of approximately $1,689. The failed components and dealer records are available for inspection upon request. While the vehicle has not experienced a loss of propulsion, I am concerned that a fuel injector defect could lead to engine performance issues, increased emissions, reduced reliability, or unsafe operating conditions if the condition worsens while driving. Honda has previously acknowledged fuel injector issues on certain 2017-2019 Honda Pilot vehicles and issued a warranty extension covering fuel injector repairs for eligible VINs. However, despite a dealer diagnosis of failed fuel injectors, I was informed that my VIN is not covered by the existing warranty extension. The vehicle has been inspected and the injector failure has been confirmed by a Honda dealership. Prior to diagnosis, the only symptoms were the check engine light and the Emissions System Problem and AWD System Problem warning messages. These warnings first appeared at approximately 80,000 miles. I am submitting this complaint because the failure appears similar to fuel injector issues already recognized by Honda, yet my vehicle is excluded from the existing warranty extension coverage. I believe NHTSA should review whether additional 2019 Honda Pilot vehicles outside the currently covered VIN population are experiencing similar fuel injector failures. Have a 2019 Honda Pilot - Fuel injector failure/Catalytic Converter at 115,000 miles. estimated cost over 2,200. KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT: Honda Service Bulletins 20-100, 21-002, 22-002 acknowledge widespread fuel injector failures in 2019 Honda Pilots caused by debris from manufacturing process. Honda extended warranty to 10 years/150,000 miles for certain VINs. My VIN is excluded despite identical failures and many others complaint of the same issue. Something needs to be done to hold Honda accountable!!!!

I am having transmission issues with my 2019 Honda pilot. There is an extended warranty service bulletin out, Honda USA claims my vehicle does not fall under that extended warranty based on the VIN. I am experiencing all of the symptoms of the fuel injector issues that they report in the bulletin. I am unable to get anybody at Honda to help me.

Rod bearing failure, diagnosed by Honda Service. At a stop light, vehicle starting making very loud noises (video proof). I pulled over right away and had it towed to not risk an accident or more damage. Honda(same place that the vehicle was purchased at did most preventive maintenance) diagnosis: "Engine Major Miscellaneous | rod bearing failure. removed timing covers and confirmed t belt is intact and holding tension. was able to start motor momentarily and confirmed rod bearing noise. replace motor with used engine" I asked Honda Coporation for a goodwill claim and help and the claim was denied. I appealed this decision. I am asking Honda to consider whether the actual cause of my engine failure could be consistent with the type of internal engine concerns that have been documented on comparable vehicles, and to give my case the attention that such a serious failure warrants. In particular, I asked that Honda: - Reviews the complete authorized-dealer diagnosis, technician notes, repair estimate, and any teardown findings. - Determines and document the specific failed bearing and the suspected root cause of the failure. Review the oil condition, lubrication findings, crankshaft condition, and any other evidence that may explain why the rod bearing failed. -Preserves the failed components and diagnostic records while this request is being reconsidered. -Considers full or substantial goodwill assistance toward repair or engine replacement, including parts coverage, labor assistance, towing or a fair cost-sharing arrangement. This was not an expected maintenance expense, a neglected oil change, or a routine wear item. It was a sudden, serious internal engine failure. I did what Honda asks owners to do: I maintained the vehicle, completed scheduled preventive maintenance, and took well care of it. I HAVE (and provided Honda) proof of ALL PREVENTIVE maintenance completed as recommended, including a costly timing belt change. *NO warnings, lights or signs prior to t

ENGINE

My engine light came on, and the codes reported were P0441 P04F1 U0401 and P0172. I took the car to the dealer for a diagnostic and they stated it was the fuel injectors. Their is a TSB 21-010 related to this situation, however my car's vin wasn't covered by the TSB. I have two coworkers with the same engine, and they had the same issues and were covered on the TSB. I spoke with my local shop to get a quote and they mentioned doing a lot of fuel injector replacement on Honda lately. It seems like the scope of the TSB wasn't wide enough to include all affected VINs.
