Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Tucson Hybrid, Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), 2026 IONIQ 5, Santa Cruz, Kona, Palisade, Palisade Hybrid, Santa Fe, Santa Fe Hybrid, Sonata, Sonata Hybrid, and Tucson vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. Software in the front cameras may cause the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely and unexpectedly apply the brakes.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE

On 9/13/26, while driving, all the instrument warning lights came on and stayed on after the car was shut off and back on a few times. Running diagnostics on the car showed everything was working ok. On 9/14/26, The warning lights were off in the morning. On 9/15 while driving, making a left turn, the instrument panel went completely blank, with the exception of the radio part of the screen. My turn signal, speed, fuel, blind spot indicator, etc. nothing showed up. Video is available of the incident.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

After denying that this problem existed, Hyundai issued a software update to "fix" the AEB issue. I had the software update done at Riverhead Hyundai on 7/20/26. On 7/27 and 7/28, the AEB system activated and stopped my vehicle. On 8/4, the system began to activate, but ended the activation before a complete stop. There was no issue with traffic from any direction on all 3 occasions. I contacted Hyundai, but they again stated that their technicians could not duplicate the issue. This was what they told me before the recall was announced or performed, and no Hyundai technician had possession of the vehicle to do a test after these most recent incidents.

STRUCTURE

Sunroof exploded on the freeway while i was driving I heard a very loud bang and thought it must be the car next to me. When I arrived home later- saw the hole in my roof.Next morning I took my car to the delearship and after assessment they agreed the sunroof exploded. They told me the car was not safe to drive and gave me a loaner. I have tried to upload images but they are too large for your portal.

WHEELS,LANE DEPARTURE

All four factory Nexen tires on my brand new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid have shown rapid and uneven wear between 5,000 and 11,000 miles. The vehicle feels unstable, with alignment-like behavior. A Nexen preferred dealer suggested a possible tire defect. Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the dealership have not coordinated a proper warranty inspection, and I was asked to pay 189.99 for diagnosis even though the issue was documented early under warranty. I am concerned this may be a safety-related defect affecting other vehicles.(my 1st request to Hyundai since march 2026 all emails and conversations documented)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the contact stated that the failure occurred. The contact stated that the instrument panel flickered and went blank and repeatedly turned on and off. No warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,987.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION

The parking cameras on this vehicle have been intermittently failing for almost a year, most frequently when reversing the vehicle, but also when parking in a garage (forward camera). This puts me and any cars and pedestrians around me at risk every time it fails when I am attempting to reverse out of a parking space. The car's rear window is not designed for maximum visibility of surroundings. I have taken the car to the dealer 3 times to repair this defect, including one visit in which they replaced the camera. The symptom of the defect is that a green screen appears where the camera image should be and says it's not working, when I put the car into reverse or pull into a parking space.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V400000 (Electrical System) and 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance); however, approximately 15 minutes after the software updates were completed, the lane keep assist failed intermittently, causing the vehicle to veer out of the intended lane. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 9,419.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Cluster information panel failed after software update was already completed. Update completed at approximately 8500 miles, failure happened at just under 15,000 miles. Currently in the shop having entire cluster panel replaced.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving, the infotainment screen (to the right of the driver) begins to flicker. Often if turns completely black and reboots. On at least one occasion, it did not come back on at all for the remainder of the trip. The flickering movement is extremely distracting. The loss of navigation is obviously a problem if you don't know where you are and were relying on it. It is dangerous, could result in injury or death, and should trigger a recall. Hyundai dealerships have NO IDEA how to fix it. They replaced the entire screen module, which did not make a bit of difference.

LANE DEPARTURE

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the lane assist suddenly steered the vehicle to the right while the road was curving to the left. The contact manually steered the vehicle to avoid a crash. The contact learned that the lane assist feature only activated while driving between 40 and 120 MPH; however, while accelerating and decelerating due to winding roads, the Lane Assist System failed to properly communicate and direct the vehicle, which the contact associated with the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had been previously reprogrammed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 8,500.
